COPLU PAINTINGS AT ART REVOLUTION TAIPEI 2014

4th Art Revolution Taipei opened yesterday, bringing 2,000 pieces of art from around the world, including 9 pieces of my recent series of “Mankind and Universe” paintings.

This series of paintings addresses human significance, the outer reaches of outer space and, at the same time, the outer reaches of inner space, the distance to that far horizon both internal and external, that distant shore of bright lights and illumination, that can be glimpsed at times if one changes ones orientation. For example, if one lies on the ground and stares up at the clouds and stars and beyond into the empty immensity, or if one empties ones-self of the distractions of the world and of the sense of self and realizes one’s own actual brief and infinitesimal presence, and insignificance, then there is the possibility of breaking out from the horizontal homocentric world and freeing from the spider’s web of modern interconnected city life.

The fair is exhibiting the works of 280 artists from 48 countries, organized by the Taiwan International Contemporary Artist Association, runs from 17 till 20 April, at the Taipei World Trade Centre Exhibition Hall 3. Last year, over 30,000 people attended the fair, where 90 percent of all of the art on display was sold, according to organizers.

Enjoy the artworks…
